レビューシステムがうまく機能しない
最近、レビューシステムがうまく機能しないパターンが目につきます。
インターネットに何かを書き込むのがハードルが高かった時代には、経験者によるレビューシステムはとてもうまい仕組みだったのと思いますが、今やSNSで誰でも気軽にネットに意見を書き込める時代になったことで、ちゃんと評価できていない、言うなれば的外れなレビューが増えています。
例えば、ある程度の知識を前提として書かれた中級者向けの書籍に対して、初心者が読んで「この書籍は（自分には）難しすぎた」だけなのに「わかりにくい本」とレビューされているのをよく目にします。
食べ物で例えると、いつもカップラーメンとか食べてる人が、銀座の高級寿司屋に行って、「量が少ない」「味が薄い」「食べ応えがない」とレビューしているようなものです。そりゃお前が悪いよ、です。
そんな的外れなレビューが、ちゃんと評価されたレビューと同じ価値を持っているのが問題です。
もう一部のジャンルについては、現行のレビューシステムは正常に機能していないと思っています。
本探しは信頼できる人物や本屋さんで
私が最近どうやって本を探しているのかなぁ？と思い出すと、ネットでの繋がりがある信頼できる人のオススメだったり、友人だったり、本屋さんのポップを読んだりして探すことが増えました。
ネットが普及することで一周回って閉鎖的なコミュニティだったりネット外の情報の価値が上がるのは面白い現象だと思います。
AIで上手く解決できないか？
それで本題ですが、最近のAIの進化が早いので、この辺のレビュー問題もAIで上手く解決できないでしょうか？
AIがレビューを読んで、そのレビュー自体に評価を下すようなシステムです。（よりディストピアが加速している気がしますが…そこは置いておいて）
その人物のレビューがどのくらい的を得ているかスコアリングしてくれれば、こちらも参考にできます。もちろん、今のサービスでも似たようなことはやっていますが、今のAIなら精度が全然違うでしょう。
また、AI自体が本の評価を下す本人として登場することも考えられます。
最近のAIの凄いところは、何か新しい知識に対するアクセスを格段に容易にしてくれる点です。
例えば、自分が詳しくないプログラミング言語でも、AIに聞けば勉強方法や解決策を教えてくれますし、とにかく何か新しいことをするハードルが下がりました。
これは言い換えれば、AI自体が聞けば答えてくれる良書であり、私たちのベストな道先案内人になっていることに他ならないので、そのオリジナルのソースである本の評価も教えてくれるのではないかと期待しています。
とにかく、未来の素晴らしい本との出会いを損なう可能性がある現行のレビューシステムは、何らかの対策で上手く変革して欲しいと思っています。

Recently, I have noticed a pattern where review systems are not functioning well. Back when it was a hurdle to write something on the internet, a review system by experienced people was a great mechanism. However, now in the era where anyone can easily post their opinions on the internet via social media, there are increasing instances of inadequate and, to put it bluntly, off-the-mark reviews.
For example, I often see beginner-level readers review an intermediate-level book, which assumes some prior knowledge, as ‘difficult to understand’ simply because it was too difficult for them.
It’s like someone who usually eats instant ramen going to a high-end sushi restaurant in Ginza and reviewing it as ‘not enough quantity,’ ‘bland taste,’ and ‘not satisfying.’ That’s really their own fault.
The problem is that such off-the-mark reviews are given the same weight as properly evaluated ones.
I think that the current review system is not functioning properly for some genres.
Finding Books Through Trusted Sources
Recently, when I think about how I find books, it’s often through recommendations from trustworthy people I connect with online, friends, or reading the staff picks at bookstores.
I find it an interesting phenomenon that with the spread of the internet, the value of closed communities or information outside of the internet has increased.
Can AI Solve This Problem?
Now to the main topic: with the rapid advancement of AI technology, can AI solve this review problem?
Imagine a system where AI reads the reviews and evaluates the reviews themselves. (It does feel a bit more dystopian, but let’s set that aside).
If AI could score how accurate a person’s review is, it would be very helpful for us. Of course, similar things are being done in current services, but with today’s AI, the accuracy would be completely different.
Also, it’s conceivable for AI itself to appear as a reviewer.
The amazing thing about recent AI is that it makes accessing new knowledge much easier.
For example, even if I’m not familiar with a programming language, AI can teach me study methods and solutions. The barrier to trying something new has been lowered.
In other words, AI itself is a good book that answers when asked, and it has become our best guide. So, I expect it could also tell us about the evaluation of books, the original sources.
In any case, I hope the current review system, which has the potential to spoil wonderful future encounters with books, will be successfully transformed through some measures.
